Im sitting in my family room, watching The Desperate Housewives of New York,  first wondering why this show exists but secondly, the idea of a trophy wife came to mind. Is it true as a women, in this society we must obtain a certain physical look and status to be exceptable to a man or in order to keep him? As a women of christ what is our role as a wife physically speaking? It isnt like I am ANY WHERE near ready to get married but this is a blog..so I'm blogging :) As society suggests, is it our duty to keep ourselves looking young by any surgical or natural way possible to conserve our self esteem and the love of our husband? And the answer is... NO- Want to know why? Corinthians 4:16-18 says, " For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever." There is nothing wrong nor vain in marriage with looking presentable or staying healthy, but the boundary according to christ is clear, we need as women to find our utmost INNER happiness from Christ alone and trust Him to bless our marriages far beyond the point when we begin to age bodily.

    Love it! I 'm your first follower ;) I'm such a bloggy (aka blog junky) these days. I love reading other women's journeys through being wives, teaching their children, training for races, etc. I'm glad I get to read your blog now :)

The Lions Den

Like Daniel in the bible, it is not hard to picture ourselves in a very similar situation as his without the actual lions and cave. There are times in our lives we feel alone, empty, confused in a dark whole of panic, distress and anxiety. The “lions” that surround us are our emotional, social, physical and educational challenges, waiting with hungry eyes to devour us. Without a doubt sometimes it would be easier to let them swallow us whole, and succumb to what Satan seems to badger us with.   We look up and see the bright beautiful sky of hope, but no ladder nor rope to help us get to the peace and glory we are promised. Baggage

I think there is something that everyone struggles with, baggage. Your past, what you have done, here you have been and the memories of things you wish you could erase forever. With the shameful regrets and painful memories comes a fear of acceptance by peers and companions in life. Having to share old feelings and grimacing reminders isn't something we look forward too. Will that person walk away? Will they judge me and conclude that my past is something they will remember in the future? Lets answer this simple question, has anything we have EVER done not been forgiven by our Lord and savior? NO.
