There are many stages to grief, all extremely important but very different. The whole idea of it is to accept the reality of what happened or is happening to you. There is one stage in particular that doesn't associate just with greif... DENIAL. We've all done it, spent too many minutes convincing ourselves or those around us of a statement/idea/notion that clearly stands on very shaky ground. It's a difficult thing to accept the truth, but it lies at the very heart of a couple solid traits that make or break our maturity. Humility, honesty, bravery, courage and strenght. All particularly impressive actions played out in movies, books and relationships. If we spent half as much time as we cuddling our sins and persuading ourselves it's ok as we did confessing them to God.. I fully believe those honorary traits we strive to have would become embedded parts of our nature. God wants us to simply tell Him of our downfalls, pray with him as humans and plead for forgiveness as a sinner. Then proudly thank him when we conquer. God despises the hearts un-fit to change, un-wanting to do so... Don't be someone who sins quietly and suffers, rather be a soldier who confesses loudly and LIVES.
