Perfect

I want to start off this blog post with a very very important message from one of my favorite daily devotionals. The book is titled "Jesus Calling".... and this He does when you read this incredible novel. I opened mine this morning to June 5th not knowing what today's message would bring. But as God does, he brought exactly what I needed. Many of us strive to perfection, God himself says he instilled in us the drive to be so. Be we often misconstrue WHAT perfection we should be striving for. It is not in our daily schedules, jobs, school nor this world in general. We will be met with much frusteration simply because the world we want to be perfect in...is terribly imperfect. Jesus calling says, " remember that you live in a fallen world: an abnormal world tainted by skin. Much frusteration and failure result from your seeking perfection in this life." I mean, AMEN to that am I right? Ask God not to be perfect in this world, but meerly In Him, reach to be perfect in His character and His goodness.

We live in  a world filled with quick fixes...bored? Turn on the television. Tired? Pop in a 5 hour energy pill. The word patient doesn't really look like something society is bent on practicing. Why wait when an antedote is right around the corner? In the world of Christianity, patience is such a virtue, something meant to be practiced and worked on. The Lions Den

Like Daniel in the bible, it is not hard to picture ourselves in a very similar situation as his without the actual lions and cave. There are times in our lives we feel alone, empty, confused in a dark whole of panic, distress and anxiety. The “lions” that surround us are our emotional, social, physical and educational challenges, waiting with hungry eyes to devour us. Without a doubt sometimes it would be easier to let them swallow us whole, and succumb to what Satan seems to badger us with.   We look up and see the bright beautiful sky of hope, but no ladder nor rope to help us get to the peace and glory we are promised. LOST is the perfect word when we figure out we cannot do this ourselves, that is takes a perfect being to complete this task. Baggage

I think there is something that everyone struggles with, baggage. Your past, what you have done, here you have been and the memories of things you wish you could erase forever. With the shameful regrets and painful memories comes a fear of acceptance by peers and companions in life. Having to share old feelings and grimacing reminders isn't something we look forward too. Will that person walk away? Will they judge me and conclude that my past is something they will remember in the future? Lets answer this simple question, has anything we have EVER done not been forgiven by our Lord and savior? NO. So here is the key to wiping away the anxiety of our sinful nature, if we repent, truly ask to be healed and molded away from who we are, the past is the past.
