Practice your Faith with Penmanship
It's been about 2.5 years since I last posted to this blog...its been 2.5 years since I felt the passion for this blog again. I was sucked into the life of school and work, no time off, no weekends, and more intensely no time for God. Try as I might, life got in the way and I continually lost the passion and energy to pick up the gauntlet and write. Since writing is truly a way to reach and teach God's word I find it a necessary part of life. And this is the theme of today's post, WRITE IT OUT. It is so easy as part of this society to constantly be swept up in the ferocious cycle of distraction. One of the greatest lost arts to self wellness to me is the written word. The bible might be the most practical of examples, but it is also the most vital of ones. The discipline that courses through the Psalms, the animation in the words of the Lord. We are told to read because it is written, do I need say more? It is a cyclical measure that as Christians we need to make one of our most profound habits. Write what you read, examine it through a different periscope, challenge yourself to routinely record your thoughts and feelings after every session with Christ. These are gifts we can look back on, to see where we were at and to come to terms with things we didn't even know we discerned ourselves with. I don't mean to say that you need to start each entry with "Dear Journal..." in fact, please DON'T. Just start and don't stop until you left it all on the page. You will remember yourself better, and continually discover more about you. So write people, I know it can be cumbersome and extensive, but it's what we used to do...it's what and how the bible came to be. And that is reason enough.
